Microsoft RMS “End of Life” was July 13, 2021. We recommend migrating to Retail Management Hero (RMH).
Introducing RMH as the Next Generation of RMS
Retail Management Hero (RMH) is a new, complete retail management solution that enables retailers to efficiently manage their back office and POS activities.
While the RMH interface was completely rewritten, the POS workflow mirrors Microsoft RMS, which makes it easy for cashiers to understand and master.
You will notice major improvements in the back office, especially to Purchase Order Processing, Inventory Control, and Accounts Receivable. For example, RMH’s Advanced Accounts Receivable feature can manage individual and grouped accounts for families and groups of people.
RMH will use your current RMS database, and that means all your customers, items, suppliers, reports, and transaction history are preserved. Your current POS peripherals will also work.
Migration/Upgrade Discount Microsoft RMS to Retail Management Hero (RMH)
RMH offers a 10% license discount for Microsoft RMS customers to incentivize the migration from RMS to RMH.
Microsoft’s Windows 7 “End of Life” was January 14th, 2020.
The end of the Windows 7 lifecycle is set for January 2020. “End of life” means Microsoft will discontinue all support, including paid support; and all updates, including security updates.
Between now and then, the operating system (OS) is in an in-between phase known as “extended support.” During this phase, Microsoft is offering paid support, though not the complimentary support that comes with the license; and will continue to provide security updates, but not design and feature updates.
Microsoft RMS “End of Life” was July 13, 2021
Microsoft’s “extended support” product lifestyle phase for Microsoft Dynamics RMS (Retail Management System) version 2.0 ended on July 13, 2021. The end of Extended Support is sometimes called “End of Life”. However, we expect to support the current version of Microsoft RMS (2.0.2022) for many years.
