The latest version of Microsoft Dynamics™ Retail Management System (RMS) is 2.0 with Service Pack 2. If your version number shown is 2.0.0116, you have the latest version 2.0 service pack installed. Last updated 11/17/08
This service pack makes changes to the structure of the RMS database. Therefore, you will be unable to use a Service Pack 2 database with previous releases of Microsoft Dynamics RMS. If you decide to uninstall the service pack, you will have to use a backup of the Microsoft Dynamics RMS database from before the service pack was installed.
The service pack must be installed on all computers where any Microsoft RMS programs are installed.
An issue has been discovered that impacts users of Microsoft Dynamics RMS who install Windows XP Service Pack 3 or Windows Vista Service Pack 1. You should not install either service pack on a computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics RMS until you have installed the fix for this issue. Here is the latest information on this issue.
Running Microsoft Dynamics RMS in a Windows Server 2008 environment is not supported.
