Often we can be onsite within 2 days, tweaking your RMS system, training key team members, writing custom reports, modifying receipts, and highlighting best practices to take your RMS system to a new level. I can work directly with Microsoft RMS users and or through Microsoft partners who are implementing Microsoft RMS for their clients.
We can also provide remote assistance, including installation. Our 200+ clients in the US and Canada include retailers, independent consultants, and Microsoft partners who rely on us for Microsoft RMS expertise.
A successful retail business is managed around systems proven to be effective, efficient, and profitable. A true system is not an isolated piece of software, but a chain of cascading events where one feeds off the next: carefully chosen software, careful implementation that maps to and streamlines your business processes, thorough training, and ongoing access to trusted help and advice.
J Bailey & Company specializes in Microsoft Dynamics RMS It is our total focus. And we have a vision of retail success, based on fully implementing a retail management system, and providing the thorough training and ongoing trusted help and advice.

Tips and Tricks
Do you need to track sales by Promo Code, or Zip-code? If you are not using the Sales Rep feature, just use the Sales Rep to assign and track the Promotion Code, or Zip-code.
Add the same item to multiple lines of the transaction by pressing the + key to automatically add the previous item to subsequent lines.
For three decimal point pricing (i.e. $1.141), set up the item as a Gasoline type.
Having a Sidewalk Sale or going on the road? The Microsoft RMS Offline Mode in POS handles this very well.
You can easily process mass updates to the item database with the Excellike features in the Store Operations Inventory Wizard.
The configuration settings in Administrator are NOT stored in the database, but rather in the Registry. A user without proper permissions may not be able to edit or save these settings for that reason.
In RMS Store Operations Manager, you can suppress the "backup database" option. Go to File, Configuration, Options, General, and select "Suppress backup reminder". Click OK.
In RMS Headquarters you can disable, but not suppress, the "backup database" option from the RMS Headquarters Manager Utilities menu. Go to security mode, press Ctrl+Alt+S to activate menus, click utility, right click "backup database" and check all security levels.
To quickly print labels for items with different quantities, use the Label Wizard to select items from a Purchase Order, Transfer In or Transfer Out to specify the exact quantity. If the items are not on a Purchase Order, Transfer In or Transfer Out, you can click on the quantity field in the Wizard and specify a different quantity for each line.
Over time, the tables and indexes in a database can become unsynchronized, resulting in slower performance or unusual errors. You can rebuild the indexes in a database by using the Reindex command on the Database menu in either Headquarters Administrator or Store Operations Administrator. I recommend reindexing four times per year, and don't do this on a busy Saturday!
Very large databases can slow performance, both at the store and at Headquarters. The most common cause of database growth is journaling receipts, the practice of storing electronic copies of all receipts in the store database. Merchants should balance their need for viewing electronic receipts against their available disk space and RAM, edition of SQL Server, etc. For example, you could delete all journals over 18 months from the database, and rely on a database backup if you ever have to review an old journal. Uploading journals to Headquarters really slows things down. I encourage Headquarters clients to turn off the "Upload Journals Option" and only upload journals that they need via a Worksheet 402.
